summer models are available in the 30,000-40,000 yen range, and prices are lower than other companies

    On May 16, 2019, NTT DoCoMo announced a new model for the summer of 2019 (Photo 1). The new product is a total of 13 models: 10 smartphones (including 1 model of the Tokyo Olympics limited edition), 2 mobile phones and 1 mobile Wi-Fi router.

As for the smartphone, 4 models of mid-range models of 30,000 to 40,000 yen appeared. For high-end models, a new sales model, the "smartphone return program" will be prepared, and some models will support high-speed communications at a maximum speed of 1576Mbit / s when receiving.
"High-end" corresponds to "return"

   As a purchase method of the smartphone, it newly corresponds to "36 times payment". The smartphone return program is a program in which if the target model is purchased 36 times and the terminal is returned on the way, the divided payment (up to 12 times) after the bill each month is exempted (Photo 2).

  The target models for the smartphone return program are six high-end models such as "Xperia 1" (made by Sony Mobile Communications) in the 2019 summer model. In addition, multiple Android devices after the 2017 winter model are compatible. The iPhone is targeted for iPhone 8 and later models.
As for the communication speed, five models support "Max. 1576Mbit / sec at reception" scheduled to start offering in winter 2019 (Photo 3). A total of 16 models supported at maximum 988 Mbit / s or more at reception.
    The model price of the summer model is set, for example, as Xperia 1 is 104,000 yen for the au version, and NTT DoCoMo version is 95,400 yen (all except tax) and 10,000 yen to 20,000 yen cheaper than other carriers. As for the reason, in the question and answer session, "We put an appropriate gross profit on the procurement price, but made some effort on the part of the gross profit" (Hiroshi Takamoto, Sales Manager, NTT DOCOMO).
